Press Announcements Triad Eye Associates hires High Point optician Toby Pope (ARCHDALE, N.C., March 21, 2005) — Licensed optician Toby Pope, who has practiced in High Point for more than 16 years, has joined the staff of Triad Eye Associates. Triad Eye Associates, which has two Triad locations and is finalizing plans for a third Triad location, offers comprehensive eye exams, designer eyewear and contact lenses. "Toby is one of the region's most skilled and knowledgeable opticians. And he has such a rapport with his customers," said Rick Gilliam, O.D., managing partner of Triad Eye Associates. "It's clear that he cares about them and that they trust him. We're happy to have him as part of the Triad Eye Associates team." Pope will work in the optical department at Triad Eye Associates' Archdale office at 311-D Trindale Road. "I've known most of my customers for years, and I value their friendship and their business," Pope said. "Though I'm working at a new place now, I want my customers to know that I'll be there the next time they have eyewear needs. I want to be able to continue those relationships." A High Point native, Pope graduated from Durham Technical Community College. He has been a licensed optician in North Carolina since 1989. As an optician, Pope plays a crucial role in helping Triad Eye Associates' patients see better. He is an expert in the latest eyeglass technology, including anti-reflective lens finishes, transition lenses and progressive lenses. He is also knowledgeable about which eyeglasses work best for specific tasks, such as reading, sewing and computer work. Pope can even improve a customer's vision with a simple frame adjustment. "A big part of how you see is the alignment of frames," said Pope, who recommends that his customers have their eyeglasses checked and adjusted every three to four months. It's also a good idea to have glasses checked out before a vacation or business trip. "You wouldn't want to get out of town and have a lens fall out," he said. Triad Eye Associates carries a large selection of designer eyeglass frames, including Calvin Klein, Christian Dior, Kate Spade, Giorgio Armani, Oakley and Air Lock. C. Rick Gilliam, O.D.; James M. Kernodle, Jr., O.D.; and Cathy A. Fulp, O.D., are the staff optometrists at Triad Eye Associates. Triad Eye Associates has two office locations at 311-D Trindale Road in Archdale (336-434-4033) and 328-A North Fayetteville St. in Asheboro (336-625-2020). Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Friday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday; and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday. |
