Adult & Children's Eye Care
Some people assume that when they're an older adult, or qualify for Medicare, they must go to an eye surgeon for an eye examination. Likewise, many parents think their children receive complete eye care from their pediatrician. Truth is, we can provide most of the diagnostic services and treatments you'll need at ANY age!
Sports Eye Care
For the best in sports eye care, we do visual motor function testing to assure that the eyes are teaming well. We also test for any refractive correction, and we have a good selection of safety eyewear and contact lenses for our patients who participate in contact sports.
Eye Exams
We perform dilated, comprehensive eye exams on all new patients as part of our preventive care. We evaluate color vision, depth perception, ocular motility and function, peripheral vision screening, and we generate glasses prescriptions; such as computer glasses, sunglasses, bifocals and sport glasses. The ocular health portion of our exam includes cataract and glaucoma checks and well a retina, eyelid, conjunctiva and cornea assessments. We recommend digital photographs of the Retina and Optic Nerve periodically so we can more easily monitor changes.
Diagnosis and Treatment of Eye Conditions
If our exam detects that you have an eye condition or disease that we can treat or monitor, we will. If necessary, we will refer you to a trusted specialist or surgeon for further treatment.
Lasik Consultation
As your primary eye care provider, we can refer you to a local specialist for LASIK vision correction. Postoperative care can be provided in our office, closer to home. For more information on LASIK, please visit: www.tlcvision.com.
Eyewear Fittings
We'll help you get the best, most comfortable fit, plus the right "look" from our extensive selection of eyewear. We carry Designer and Fashion Frames as well as economy and budget lines for secondary or back up glasses.
Lenses from our Optical Lab
We carry a large selection of stock lenses that are ready for same day service. Thanks to our Optical Lab, we can provide quicker service on most prescriptions, however some of today's advanced lenses must be manufactured at an outside laboratory before we can place them in a frame.
Contact Lenses
We prescribe all types of contact lenses, including bifocals and toric lenses that correct for astigmatism. We also prescribe lenses that can be worn up to 30 days without removal and daily disposables that can virtually eliminate the need for solutions.
Please note that contact lens fittings and evaluations are separate from a regular eye exam. Prescribing Contact lenses involves a precise fitting of the contact lens to the cornea to provide optimal corneal integrity. We also use different calculations to determine the exact power for the contact lens.
